The data types that you see in the transformer grid determine the data types of your output columns. You may need to change the data type of one or more columns depending on where you are publishing your output data.

Change the data type of a single column

You can change the data type of a single column by clicking on the data type icon for a column. From the drop-down list, you can choose the new data type.

Change the data type of multiple columns

You can change the data type of multiple columns from the Columns View in the transformer. Switch into this view by clicking on the Columns option in the toolbar:

Once you are in the Columns View, you can select multiple columns by holding down the command or shift keys on your keyboard. Right-click on the selected columns to open the actions menu. From the menu, select Change Type and then choose the data type that you want to assign to the selected columns.
