When you load the Transformer view, if the data grid is enabled, you are shown column histograms that contain details about the column data. The Data Quality Bar and Histogram show a profile of the column values. For larger datasets, it may take a while to load the column histograms, which slows the loading of the Transformer view. Additionally, adding each recipe step updates the data, and consequently the column histograms are updated based on the changed values, which can also be time-consuming.

If you would like to perform some quick data transformations and decide that you do not need to view the column histograms for each update, you can enable or disable the column histograms in the Transformer page, which can improve the page performance.

This option is available in the Show/hide data grid options drop-down menu in the status bar at the bottom of the Transformer page, alongside the Edit with data grid option.

This feature can be enabled or disabled by an administrator. For more details, refer to the Workspace Settings page.

Steps

  1. Open your recipe. The Transformer view loads with the data grid.

  2. In the status bar, select Show/Hide data grid options.

  3. Disable the Show column histogram option.

The column histograms are no longer shown. You can continue to edit the recipe.

Usage

  • When the data grid is enabled, you can choose to disable the column histograms in the data grid, which can improve performance.

  • When the data grid is disabled, the Show column histogram option is not available. To use it, you must first enable the Edit with data grid option.
